Emmanuel Villegas is a quantum computing specialist at Intel Costa Rica and the founder of Quantum Computing Academy. With a master’s degree in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology, Emmanuel later specialized in Quantum Computing at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona, earning a postgraduate degree and expanding his expertise in Germany.
At Intel, he applies his knowledge in quantum error correction, qubit control, and hybrid classical–quantum architectures to explore cutting-edge computational breakthroughs, helping position Costa Rica at the forefront of next-gen technologies. Through his Academy, Emmanuel also mentors students and empowers Latin American talent, fostering a thriving quantum ecosystem in the region.
